From Learning to Supporting her Children
Rohina Mirzai, a mother living in Parwan, Afghanistan, joined the A1-level online English course through EAGT Initiative with a clear goal: to learn English and better support her children’s education at home. She wanted to gain the skills and confidence to assist them effectively and be more involved in their learning journey. Before joining, Rohina’s English was very basic, and she often struggled to help her children with lessons. The lack of structured guidance made it difficult for her to support their studies, and she worried about relying on external courses or private tutors. During the course, Rohina experienced a supportive and clear teaching approach, with regular practice and guidance from her instructor. Her English gradually improved, and she began to feel more confident in understanding and communicating in the language. “I am truly happy and grateful that I have learned the basics of English. Now, for the first time, I can sit with my children, understand their lessons, and help them learn without needing external courses or a private tutor. It makes me feel proud, independent, and closer to them in a way I couldn’t before,” Rohina shares. Her journey shows how consistent effort, structured support, and belief in oneself can create meaningful change. The course has given Rohina hope and motivation for the future, opening doors for continued learning and personal growth while empowering her to actively contribute to her family’s education.
