Cycle of Development is ABAAD’s structured skills-building initiative designed to equip Afghan girls with practical vocational and digital skills that support sustainable, home-based income generation.
Through a six-month training model, each program combines technical skills development with business and e-commerce education. This approach enables participants not only to learn a practical skill, but also to build the confidence, knowledge, and entrepreneurial capacity needed to turn those skills into viable income opportunities.

Many Afghan girls face significant barriers to economic participation, including limited access to employment, economic dependency, restricted mobility, and a lack of affordable vocational and professional training opportunities.
These challenges often prevent them from building independent livelihoods and secure futures.
Cycle of Development was created to address these gaps through structured, practical, and income-oriented training that girls can apply within their homes and communities.
Each track is designed to support 100 girls, with participants receiving the required tools and materials from ABAAD through the support of generous donors. Programs also include hands-on training, mentorship, business guidance, and performance monitoring to strengthen learning outcomes and long-term impact.
Each Cycle of Development track follows a structured six-month model:
01
Months 1–3: Technical skills training in the selected track
02
Months 4–6: Business development, e-commerce education, and mentorship

Across all three tracks, Cycle of Development is designed to support 300 girls, with 100 participants in each program. Through practical vocational, digital, and entrepreneurship training, the initiative helps participants build pathways toward income generation, home-based micro-businesses, stronger household income, and greater long-term self-reliance.
