From Learner to Mentor
Yousra Sarwarkhil, from Parwan province and currently living in Kabul, Afghanistan, joined the EAGT Initiative to pursue her passion for computer science. Before the program, she had limited knowledge of programming and lacked both confidence and practical experience, which made it difficult to advance her skills. Through the initiative, Yousra completed beginner and intermediate Python courses, gaining hands-on experience in programming and problem-solving. She applied her learning by creating two projects: a Student Score Management System and an interactive game. The clear teaching, practical exercises, and constructive feedback strengthened her abilities and gradually gave her the confidence to pursue her goals. Building on this foundation, Yousra is now studying at the advanced level, further developing her technical expertise. She also created her YouTube channel, Pythonic Path, where she teaches Python in Dari, especially for girls and students who don’t have access to courses. “This program gave me the skills and confidence to pursue my passion in computer science and to empower other girls by sharing knowledge and creating learning opportunities they might not otherwise have,” Yousra shares. Her journey has been a turning point, preparing her for future growth in the tech field while creating opportunities for others to learn. Yousra’s story demonstrates how structured guidance, dedication, and practice can transform passion into real impact.
